It is the belief of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials that each person who makes the commitment to enter the COSBO Certification Program as a candidate has set a course that will raise the level of professionalism of treasurers and school business officials in the state of Ohio. This course of study will prepare a Certified School Business Official to lead internally and externally on a better course of action to maximize education dollars from federal, state and local sources to improve education for Ohio’s students. Their colleagues, other professionals in the field of education, and local communities will respect a Certified School Business Official for their high level of competency in demonstrated areas.

Each candidate who has completed and submitted an application along with the corresponding administrative fee will receive a Candidate Binder. At that point, the student becomes known as a CFO/COO Certification Candidate. The purpose of the Binder is to provide a candidate with an overview of the CFO/COO
Certification Program. It also provides the candidate with a purposeful place to file their personal
documentation necessary to substantiate the completion of the prerequisites necessary to apply for
professional certification.
