OASBO Professional Registration Program

OASBO issues Professional Registration certificates for the following:

            School Business Administrator
            School business Fiscal Officer
            School Business Manager
            School Business Director
            School Business Official

All Professional Registrations require the member provide evidence of following general requirements:

  1. Completed application

  2. Application fee of $15.00

  3. Copy of job description from current employer

  4. Copy of organizational chart from current employer

  5. Member must have been an active member of OASBO for the three most recent preceding years. (OASBO will verify membership.)

  6. Copy of college/university transcripts or CEU certificates, if applicable

  7. Copy of state issued license, if applicable

  8. Required experience in current position as indicated on the application

  9. Favorable recommendation letter

School Business Administrator Registration


A School Business Administrator registration shall be granted upon evidence of the following:

School Business Fiscal Officer and/or Business Manager Registration


A School Business Fiscal Officer and/or Business Manager registration shall be granted upon evidence of the following:

Business Manager: Collective Bargaining, Cost Accounting, Data Processing, Finance, Statistics, Labor Relations, Office Administration & Procedures, Office Supervision Management, Psychology, Public Speaking, School Law, Management & Tax Structures

Fiscal Officer: Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Cost Accounting, Data Processing, Finance, Basic Accounting, Statistics, Business English, Office Administration & Procedures, Office Supervision Management, Psychology, Public Finance, School Law, Tax Structures

School Business Director Registration

A School Business Director registration shall be granted to those administrative specialists in the areas of Maintenance, Food Service, Transportation, Finance, Classified Personnel, Communications/Public Relations, Purchasing & Warehousing, Data Processing/Technology, Operations, Buildings & Grounds, and other appropriate areas.

Business: Collective Bargaining, Cost Accounting, Labor Relations, Data Processing/Technology, Finance, Psychology, Statistics, Office Supervision Management, Public Speaking, School Law, Food Service Management, Transportation Management, Tax Structures, Office Administration & Procedures, School Plant Operations & Management

Finance: Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Cost Accounting, Data Processing/Technology, Finance, Basic Accounting, Statistics, Business English, Office Supervision Management, Psychology, Public Finance, School Law, Tax Structures


School Business Officials Registration

A School Business Official registration shall be granted to those administrative specialists in the areas of Buildings & Grounds, Food Service, Transportation, Maintenance, Classified Personnel, Operations, Purchasing & Warehousing, Data Processing/Technology and other appropriate areas. This designation will be awarded to those specialists who do not qualify for Registered School business Administrator, Registered School Business Fiscal Officer, Registered School Business Manager designations.
